This lovely selection of Handmade Paper Strips have been cut from exquisitely embossed, foiled and printed Indian handmade paper. This bright assortment in a range of colours and patterns have been pre-cut into strips for your convenience. Handmade Paper Strips are great for many craft activities including weaving, car marking, collage, scrapbooking, stationery, and invitations.
Each 100g deluxe pack includes approximately 200 strips, each measuring approximately 10-14mm x 297-300mm.
This beautiful handmade paper is made in traditional Indian style from recycled cotton rags. The cotton Rags are chopped and beaten down to pulp before being mixed with water. From this, cellulose fibres are lifted on a sieve and the water is drained out. During this Pulp Lifting process we are also able to add unique embellishments to the paper including natural materials, flower petals, straw, jute fibres and seeds.
The water is further removed from the sheets by pressing the sheets against each other and staking them. The sheets so formed are sun-dried and cold pressed to result in uniform and strong sheets of paper.
Processes like multi-colour silk screen printing by hand, flocking, deep embossing, hot stamp foiling and dew drops are carried out on handmade paper sheets resulting in amazing designs and textures.
