How the Paper is Made

Our Christmas Handmade Shapes Patterned Paper are made from recycled cotton rags, which are chopped and beaten into a pulp. This pulp is then mixed with water to create a dilute suspension of cellulose fibres.

The mixture is lifted onto a sieve, allowing the water to drain out, and ultimately forming the sheets of paper. During this process, we have the opportunity to add embellishments such as flower petals, straw, jute fibres, and even real seeds!

After the water is removed, the sheets are pressed together and stacked to remove excess moisture. The sheets are then sun-dried and cold-pressed to ensure uniformity and strength. To add the finishing touches, we employ techniques like multi-colour silk screen printing, flocking, deep embossing, hot stamp foiling, and dew drops.

These processes result in stunning designs and textures that truly make our handmade papers unique.
